Hospital Policies

Appointment Policy

Walk-in clients are welcome, however appointments are preferred. Emergency cases shall always receive top priority followed by Patients with previously scheduled appointments.

Payment Policy

Indian Valley Animal Hospital receives no financial support from the government, charitable organizations, or any other third party. In order to maintain our hospital and provide your pet with high quality veterinary care, it is required that every client be prepared to pay for services at the time they are rendered.

We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, Cash and personal checks with proper identification.

Patient Arrival Policy

Please have your pet securely restrained.  For dogs this means  properly fitted collar and leash.  If your pet is aggressive or hard to control, feel free to come in first to see if the coast is clear or ask for assistance.

Cats should have a halter and leash, carriers, pillowcases or catbags.

Birds should be in boxes, carriers, or their cage--not your shoulder.  There could be a large dog in our waiting room or any other unforseen circumstance that may startle your pet.

Snakes, Reptiles, Pocket Pets and all other exotics should also be properly housed or restrained for safety.

Admissions

Patients coming in for surgery should be dropped off between 8:00AM and 9:00AM. For safety, your pet should be fasted before surgery, and have their food and water removed before bed the previous night. Rabbits, birds, and small exotics need not be fasted.

Please allow a little extra time for paperwork. You will be asked to sign a Hospital Authorization form, and check off various options for your pet. We eagerly suggest that you opt for the laser option and pain management for all surgeries, to decrease post-op pain and make the procedure safer. Make sure we have the correct numbers to reach you during the day for followup communication, or questions that arise before surgery. Most surgeries are completed between 12:00PM and 3:00PM, barring emergencies. Please call our office after 3:00PM for a progress check, and to arrange for a go-home time.
